The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the World Customs Organization (WCO) concluded a joint conference on air cargo security and facilitation in Manama, in the Kingdom of Bahrain last Thursday where they reiterate the importance of efficient air cargo supply chain as an essential factor for international trade and world economic development.
The gathering, taking place at the Gulf Hotel, followed the first Joint Conference hosted by Singapore in July 2012, which issued a Communiqué calling for new cooperative efforts by Customs and Civil Aviation Authorities. In this conference the proceeding focused on ways to further improve cooperation between authorities and with industry in order improve cooperation between authorities and with industry in order to strengthen aviation and border security while facilitating the flow of cargo.
